I have chosen to create a newspaper and my sub-genre within that is local newspapers. One main difference between a local and national paper is the amount of advertisement used within local newspapers. This is as local newspaper are mainly free and gain little sales in shops, where as national newspapers usually sell for roughly a minimum of fifty pence to one pound on weekdays and on weekends they can range from one pound up to two pound fifty. So this means that advertisement will be the only real money earner for the paper. One problem with working on a local newspaper is that it will hinder me as we are restricted with what we include within a local newspaper.
Within audience I feel the type that is best suited to my work is mass audience, mass audience encompassed a large demographic of ages, sex and races to get to as many views/readers as possible. I shall try and succeed in this by covering as wider range of stories as possible on a regular basis.
